The Global CBPR Forum welcomes the United Kingdom (UK) as an Associate, following the Global Forum Assembly’s endorsement on June 3, 2023, of the Membership Committee’s Recommendation that the UK has met the conditions for recognition as an Associate.
The UK is the first jurisdiction to join as an Associate since the Forum started accepting applications for participation by interested jurisdictions on April 13, 2023.
“The UK brings valuable expertise in data protection and privacy and shared values regarding cross-border data flows, and the Assembly is excited about further expanding participation in the Forum outside the Asia-Pacific region, following the globalisation of the Forum last year. The UK’s participation is a step forward to ensuring that the Forum creates a truly global, multilateral mechanism that works for our businesses, workers, consumers, and communities,” said Shannon Coe, Chair of the Global Forum Assembly.
